Do you ever wonder where to start when designing your kitchen? Are you overwhelmed by the number of things you need to consider when starting your kitchen remodeling project? When you finally decide and are ready to remodel your kitchen, you need to put a list down and think how you want the kitchen to function and how it should meet your needs. There are a few things you should consider and a few things you should avoid when deciding on a kitchen remodeling project. Here are a few things you should consider to getting that successful kitchen design in your home.
Functional Stations – depending on the functionality of your space, it is best to plan your kitchen design to what fits your needs. Don’t insist that you need the triangular layout just because everybody does it. See what fits your needs and how you move around it the kitchen. It is not necessary to have the refrigerator, sink and stove in an exact triangular form, but rather have workstations. When thinking of the kitchen design layout, see that you have a station for prep work, a station for cooking and a station for clean up.
Have space for more than ONE – When creating a kitchen design, take into consideration the number of people in the household. Even if the wife is the only chef and not the husband, make sure there’s enough room for the other partner to walk around when he decides to grab something from the fridge. Have some space for the other family members to be in like the kids to have an area where they can eat a quick breakfast before heading to school.
Storage solutions – We all need storage! And the worst part of it all is that it’s never enough. One thing to be certain when planning your kitchen remodeling is that you have enough storage spaces in your kitchen. In Los Angeles, glass doors and open shelving are popular if you want to add that glam in your kitchen design. Though it can pretty but you also need some concealed storage for those half emptied cereal boxes and some small appliances you want hidden away.
Out with the old, In with the new! – You finally have a brand new kitchen, new and maybe some built in appliances. Are you still caught hanging on to those old pots and pans that you may never use but still want them around? Focus on your new space and updated appliances and get rid of the excess things that you don’t need. Utilize what you have and make the most of all its features and you will get the most benefit from it.
Where do I sit? – When planning you kitchen design layout, think of a bigger picture. How much room do you need when you have family over? How much seating space is required? Do you need a breakfast area attached to the island or would you rather have a separate eating area within the kitchen? In Los Angeles, we may have that extra space to spare in the kitchen to be able to think of this aspect. Consider how it would work best for you and your family. Think of how your kitchen can be most functional and incorporate that into your design process.
You are planning your brand new kitchen, you want to make sure you incorporate every detail and aspect into your kitchen design layout and maximize the space you have to get the best results. Enjoy the process as you deserve the best!
